Hole #18 - Par Five, 567 Yards
Hills Golf Club

Just as at Pebble Beach and the TPC at Sawgrass, the eighteenth hole at the Hills
Golf Club in is a classic example of a "cape" golf hole that invites the golfer
to choose a long and strong line over a water feature with the potential reward
of having a much shorter approach shot. This picturesque, mid-length par-5 hole
plays from elevated tees around a lake that runs from the first landing area into
the green. A meandering stream that crosses the fairway about 90 yards from the
green further adds to the challenge.

The strategy is relatively simple. Successfully carry the tee shot over a portion
of the lake to a well-defined landing zone on the left that leaves a manageable
shot to the flagstick, or bail out to the right and carefully place the second shot
to set up a short iron approach. Multiple tees make the hole challenging and fun
for all calibers of players while the water, mature trees and interesting rock outcrops
add natural beauty and interest to the memorable golf experience. The eighteenth
at Hills provides the opportunity for an exciting finish to both casual and championship
rounds with its potential for eagles and double bogeys.
