The Club at Ironbridge
Glenwood Springs, Colorado
"The Ironbridge project was very rewarding. From a construction perspective the
upper alpine holes were some of the most challenging that I have ever been involved
with. But, these holes are probably the most dramatic holes that an architect will
ever have the opportunity to design and build. The combination of the Roaring Fork
River holes, the upper alpine holes and the holes that have panoramic views of Mt.
Sopris make this golf course one of the most beautiful and dramatic in the United
States."- Chris Wilczynski
Senior Design Partner
The Club at Ironbridge was developed by Lehman Brothers with some of the holes routed
along the Roaring Fork River. The first four holes on the back nine play within
an alpine glacier bowl about 300' above the Roaring Fork valley floor and are surrounded
by National Forest Service land that will never be developed. The views and drama
within these holes is world class. The remainder of the back nine plays within the
valley floor with dramatic views of the 13,000' Mt. Sopris near Aspen, Colorado.
The residential development that is being developed by Lehman is primarily adjacent
to holes #1, 16, 17 and 18. The remainder of the lots lay between the golf course
and the Roaring Fork River. To date all of the lots for the entire community have
been pre-sold. Ironbridge has completed all of the home building for phase one and
they just completed the infrastructure, i.e. roads, grading, utilities for phase
two. Phase three (the last phase) will start shortly.
